TranSwitch HD-PXL-1.3 transmitter and receiver for Digital Video and Audio Application

TranswitchTranSwitch announced its new HDMI 1.3 Intellectual Property (IP) cores for high performance digital video and audio applications. The HD-PXL-1.3 transmitter and receiver IP cores extend TranSwitchs existing offerings in high-performance video interconnect applications and will be sampleable in 90 nm CMOS technology.

AMD Delivers AMD Firestream 9170 First Stream Processor with Double Precision Floating Point Technology

AMDAMD today announced the AMD FireStream 9170 Stream Processor and an accompanying Software Development Kit (SDK) designed to harness the massive parallel processing power of the graphics processing unit (GPU). AMD leveraged its unique collective expertise in both GPUs and CPUs to deliver the first integrated hardware and software development solution that meets the needs of the demanding high-performance computing (HPC) market. AMD plans to deliver the FireStream 9170 and supporting SDK to market in the first quarter of 2008. With this launch AMD expects to achieve another important milestone on the path to Accelerated Computing by delivering the first in a series of next-generation heterogeneous compute architectures. OKI Develops Technology to Miniaturize Camera Modules for Mobile Phones

OKIOki announced it has started a contract assembly service for W-CSP (Wafer level Chip Sized Package) semiconductors using through-hole technology. With this technology, OKIs customers such as sensor and camera module manufacturers can now obtain camera modules that are half the size of conventional modules. Biostar Launches Motherboard Based on AMD 770 Chipset

2_r.jpgBiostar has announced the launch of its TA770 A2+ motherboard based on the AMD 770 chipset.

The TA770 A2+ supports the upcoming AMD Phenom series multi-core processors, which support dual-channel DDR2-1066, bigger L3 cache and offer optimized overclocking ability.

The TA770 A2+ features HyperTransport 3.0 technology and PCI Express 2.0, which offers data transfer speeds of 5GT/s, noted Biostar.

The TA770 A2+ has a recommended retail price of US$90 and will be available in China near the beginning of November and in the US and Europe by mid-November, according to the company.
