Wacom Cintiq 12WX Graphics Tablet

Published by BS at 11:07 am under Peripherals

Wacom has just made official its Cintiq 12WX graphics tablet that marries the Cintiq interactive pen display with the portable goodness and size of the Intuos3 tablet, resulting in a device that measures just 405mm x 270mm x 17mm while carrying a 12.1″ TFT display. The tablet comes with toggles that allows it to change between computers, allowing users to use it as a secondary or even tertiary display. You can tell by its specifications and capability that this is no ordinary graphics tablet, targeting professional digital content creators working with storyboarding, finishing retouching, and compositing instead. Features include a 1,280 x 800 resolution with 24-bit color and 170 degree viewing angles. Unfortunately, the $1,700 sticker price doesn’t exactly make this an affordable purchase to most people. You can pick up the Wacom Cintiq 12WX when it rolls out this November.

Features & benefits

Pressure-sensitivity with 1,024 levels; Create natural-looking pen, brush, and eraser strokes.

Tilt Sensitivity: Tilt the input device in either direction and create natural-looking pen, brush, and eraser strokes.

Rotation Sensitivity: Some input devices can be rotated along their axis and with rotation-sensitivity your Cintiq can recognise this rotation and transform it in some applications (such as Painter 9) into rotating brush strokes.

Tool ID: With Tool ID each Cintiq 21UX input device can be individually programmed and configured for each application. And these functions are automatically activated as soon as the application starts.

ExpressKeys: The ExpressKeys are a set of buttons located on both sides of the tablet. Assign your favourite keys or macros to these buttons and start to forget your keyboard.

Touch Strip: The Touch Strip allows you to use your finger directly on the tablet similar to a notebooks´ touchpad. Zoom in and out within your image or scroll in text documents or PDF editors with a single sweep of your finger.

Eraser: Get rid of errors by a flip of your pen.

Cord-/battery-less: No input device needs a cord or battery – the tablet itself supplies the input device with power.

Plug and Play: The Cintiq Interactive Pen Display installs easily and quickly and is compatible with all your software.

Wacom pen technology: Wacom´s patented cordless and battery-free pen technology gives you a high-quality and reliable product, which requires minimal maintenance. This technology guarantees exceptional product quality from the world market leader of pen based input solutions.

16:10 format: With a working surface in 16:10 format, the Cintiq 12WX enables optimal usage of the entire working surface in multiple monitor environments and when using widescreen LCD displays. It′s also ideal for distortion-free working with widescreen notebooks.
